Alaska might be hard to get to, but it is well worth the trek. The vistas are larger than you can imagine, and there is beauty in every direction. We rented a car to explore the Anchorage area, and I was hoping that this would give us access to areas that the cruise tours did not go. Yes, it did, but it ends up that most towns are built for the cruise tourists, so we were right there with them for most of the trip. So, whether you book a cruise or rent a car, you will be privy to the wonders that Alaska has to offer. The wilderness is definitely wild in this state.
