I didn’t know much about Michigan before my trip, and since I’ve only explored the Upper Peninsula so far, I know there’s still more to know. I was surprised by how much the Great Lakes felt like the being at an ocean beach, while the forests felt like hiking in New Hampshire. I also enjoyed learning about the Native American tribes that call this area home as well as the nautical history of the Great Lakes.
